Women ruled the Senate as it started to get back to business Tuesday, following a major winter storm that delayed proceedings. Sen. Susan Collins sat in the presiding officer’s chair as Sen. Lisa Murkowksi opened the Senate, and Murkowski noted everyone in the chamber was a woman. “I might also note, just for a little historical perspective, that as we convene this morning, you look around the chamber and the presiding officer is female, all of our parlimentairans are female, our floor managers are female, all of our pages our female,” Murkowski said.
