‘Veep’ Comes to Washington: Where to Find the Cast
The executive producer of the fifth season of the HBO hit ‘Veep,’ David Mandel, is keeping fans up-to-date about his whereabouts while filming in Washington until Friday.
On Monday morning, he tweeted a photograph of the Washington Monument from an intersection in D.C. and, according to Mandel’s Twitter, the ‘Veep’ cast watched the Oscars together Sunday night. Spotted in the photograph is Julia Louis-Dreyfus, who plays Selina Meyer, Timothy Simons, who plays Jonah Ryan, Sam Richardson, who plays Richard Splett and Sarah Sutherland, who plays Catherine Meyer. Louis-Dreyfus has been using Instagram to post about their D.C. trip. The star grew up in the District and took a photograph in her old neighborhood with her mother, Simons and Richardson.
Dreyfus was born in New York; she and her mother relocated to Washington when she was 8 years old after her parents divorced. She graduated from Holton-Arms School in Bethesda, Md. Earlier on Sunday, Mandel took a photograph in front of a house in the Van Ness neighborhood off of Massachusetts Ave. at 4801 Tilden St NW. In 1951, President Richard Nixon, as a senator, bought this house and he lived there for six years. Mandel also tweeted an “Emergency No Parking” D.C. sign on a tree, which blocks off street parking between Feb. 28 to March 4.

According to Mandel’s tweets, the crew seemed to be filming a scene in the woods. On Saturday, Mandel took a photograph at the Library of Congress and at the Daughters of the American Revolution museum at 1776 D St. NW.
On Friday, he tweeted a photograph of his 11:29 p.m. United Airlines flight to Washington.
Mandel was a writer for the series that made Louis-Dreyus a star, "Seinfeld," as well as HBO's "Curb Your Enthusiasm," and "Saturday Night Live," "Eurotrip" and "Clerks the Cartoon."
"Veep" Season 5 premieres on April 24.
