Cruz Raises Cash Off Being Called ‘Lucifer’ by Boehner
Subject line: 'Thank God that guy from Texas didn't win'

If you’re Sen. Ted Cruz, former Speaker John A. Boehner is the gift that never stops giving.
The former GOP presidential hopeful, who has filed paperwork to seek a second term as a senator from Texas in 2018, is fundraising off the latest slight by the Ohio Republican.
“Less than 24 hours after I announced my intentions to continue fighting for our shared conservative values from the Senate, former Speaker of the House John Boehner was at it again,” Cruz wrote in a Friday fundraising pitch. “Remember when he called me ‘Lucifer in the flesh?’ Well, he didn’t think that was far enough. Now the ringleader of the Washington Cartel is celebrating our defeat by saying, ‘thank God that guy from Texas didn’t win.'”
Cruz was referring to comments Boehner made this week at an event in Las Vegas. The former speaker had previously compared Cruz to Lucifer in front of an audience at Stanford University in California.
Boehner pointed out to the SALT conference in Las Vegas that he had actually gotten blowback from satanic organizations for “giving Lucifer a bad name.”
