A former fundraiser for Sen. John McCain ’s re-election bid and her boyfriend have pleaded not guilty in Arizona on multiple charges related to child abuse and drug possession.  

The Arizona Republic reported that Emily Orme Pitha, 34, and her boyfriend, Christopher Allen Hustrulid, 36, were arrested for allegedly running a meth lab in her north-central Phoenix home.  

She recently had been listed as the RSVP point of contact for McCain’s campaign , and previously was a staffer for now-retired Arizona GOP Sen. Jon Kyl , the paper reported.

The McCain campaign terminated Pitha after she was arrested on April 26. She and Hustrulid entered their non guilty pleas on Tuesday.  

Among the charges against her, five are related to narcotics, two are for dangerous drug violations, and two are for child abuse, the Republic reported.  

Law enforcement officials determined the drugs were easily accessible to Hustrulid’s 5- and 10-year-old children, the paper reported.
