Women of Congress and the female press corps will compete for the coveted pink trophy at the eighth annual Congressional Softball Game , which is expected to draw the game’s largest crowd and break another record amount of money raised.  

Tickets for Wednesday’s 7 p.m. game are on sale for $10 .  

Last year , the women of Congress beat the Bad News Babes of the press corps with the lowest score in the game’s history: 1-0.  

One of the game’s founders, Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, hoped at the end of last year’s game that the tight score could draw an even larger crowd for this year.  

“It’s really great to be able to keep the game close, give a really good game for the spectators to watch,” Wasserman Schultz told Roll Call. “What it means is they’re more likely to talk about it next year and hopefully more people will come out,” she said.  

The 2015 game raised a record $195,000 for the Young Survival Coalition, which raises funds and awareness for young women with breast cancer.  

Wednesday’s game will take place at the Watkins Recreation Center, 420 12th St. SE. And the after party will be at H Street Country Club, 1335 H St. SE.
