The Senate Democratic women anticipate having a major prime time role as they present a former member of their ranks to become the first woman to become a major party’s nominee for president.

That is according to Sen. Barbara A. Mikulski of Maryland, the longest serving woman in congressional history.

“All of the Democratic women of the Senate will be presenting a program together, but we’re not sure of the day,” Mikulski said of the plan for Philadelphia. “But it will be a significant time.”
