Trump Skips Benghazi Mother’s Speech

While Pat Smith spoke of her son's death in Benghazi, Trump was on the horn to Fox News

Donald Trump apparently missed one of the more compelling and forceful speeches on Day One of his nominating convention.

Pat Smith’s son, Sean Smith, was one of four Americans killed in the terror attack on the diplomatic compound in Benghazi, Libya, in 2012.

She’s been outspokenly critical about the government response to the armed assault, accounts of which factored heavily in the convention’s “Make America Safe” theme on Monday night.

Smith blamed Hillary Clinton and her conduct of affairs while secretary of state for the tragic Benghazi events, the investigation of which is a cornerstone of GOP efforts to discredit Clinton and her presidential ambitions.

“She lied to me and then called me a liar,” Smith said.

“Hillary for Prison,” she said.  “She deserves to be in stripes.”

The audience roared, but word was Trump was doing something else, according to the Twittersphere.

He apparently was on the phone with Fox News’ “The O’Reilly Factor” to speak about introducing his wife Melania at the convention.
