EMILY’s List Brings Out Big Guns for #WhyImWithHer
Celebrities write essays about why they're backing Clinton

Celebrities are penning essays about why they’re voting for Hillary Clinton.
EMILY’s List thinks Clinton’s closing pitch will be geared toward women so, while we know which celebrities are “with her,” they’re going to tell us why.
With less than a week before Election Day, the group launched #WhyImWithHer to feature essays from actresses America Ferrera (“Superstore”), Alfre Woodard (“Luke Cage”), Tracee Ellis Ross (“black-ish”) and Constance Wu (“Fresh Off the Boat”).

And, that’s just the first round.
In the list provided first to Roll Call, others writing essays include Uzo Aduba (“Orange is the New Black”), Zoe Kazan (“Olive Kitteridge”) and Yara Shahidi (“black-ish”).
Ferrera’s essay was published Tuesday in Latina magazine.
“I’d like to literally stream Netflix and chill with Hillary. Seriously, I’d be down to snuggle in onesies with a pint of mint chocolate chip and do a ‘Gilmore Girls’ binge with Secretary Clinton,” she wrote.

“Maybe that’s because I’m an American Latina who’s experienced firsthand the inequities that so many children and families in underserved communities face in our country, inequities that Hillary has spent her entire career trying to understand and rectify,” she added.
Ferrera also spoke at the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia in July.
