The annual White House Easter Egg Roll is no longer the only game in town.

The Washington Nationals are hosting their first-ever Easter Egg Hunt at Nationals Park on Sunday. It will take place on the field after the Nationals take on the Philadelphia Phillies at 1:35 p.m.

Both parents and kids must purchase a special ticket to take part, and participants can take home a commemorative egg and basket.

Art competition deadline nears

Remember the student art competition that caused so many problems last year? It’s time for entries again.

The 2017 Congressional Art Competition, open to high school students, is accepting submissions over the next two weeks. The deadline is April 27 and we’re looking forward to seeing what members choose to represent their districts.

Cornyn launches Spanish website

Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas, launched a Spanish-language version of his Senate official website on Wednesday, making him the first member of the Texas delegation to do so, according to his press release. “This will help me better serve Spanish-speaking Texans as we continue to expand how we engage with the nearly 28 million people who call our state home,” Cornyn said in a statement.

4/20 annoucements

Local marijuana advocacy group DCMJ announced that in a week, on 4/20, it will lead the first ever Congressional Joint Session. The group plans on giving away two free marijuana joints to members, staffers, journalists, interns and all Capitol Hill workers over the age of 21 and possessing a valid congressional ID. The event takes place from noon to 6:20 p.m. at the corner of First Street and Constitutional Avenue Northwest.

On April 24, the group will lead a #Reschedule420 ‘smoke-in’ at the Capitol, which is a demonstration on the House side of the Capitol Steps. The demonstration is scheduled from noon until 4:20 p.m.
