Federico A. Ruiz, a U.S. Capitol Police officer for 15 years, led a U.S. Army search and rescue team into the Pentagon in the first hours of 9/11. He found solace in art, painting his way through his nightmares before finding a happy place from his childhood. His work has been included in dozens of art shows, and now he has his own solo exhibition.
