Updated 4:22 p.m. | The Architect of the Capitol has decided to keep Cups & Company in the Russell Senate Office Building after all.

The beloved coffee spot’s contract will be renewed, co-owner Kathy Chung told Roll Call. The good news came in a Monday email from the AOC, she said.

However, the Capitol Hill jaunt will be closed for renovations Nov. 24 to Jan. 2.

Chung and her husband, Charles, have been operating Cups since 2001 and their contract has to be renewed by the AOC every four years.

Roll Call broke the news in October that the Chungs were competing this year with other companies, one of which was reportedly Sodexo. The food services company took over as the vendor for House and House office buildings in August 2015.

As a result, one former staffer began a petition that collected 324 signatures and other interested parties tweeted their dismay at the situation.

Correction 4:24 p.m. | An earlier version of this story misstated the day Cups received the news of their contract renewal.
