Sen. Bernie Sanders might have failed to earn the Democratic presidential nomination last year, but the socialist independent from Vermont can add Grammy nominee to his name.
Sanders was nominated for Best Spoken Word Album for the audiobook version of his book “Our Revolution: A Future to Believe In.”
Sanders narrated the book alongside actor Mark Ruffalo, who endorsed Sanders’ candidacy.
Sanders is not the first politician to be nominated for a Grammy in the spoken word category.
Among the other nominees in the category are Bruce Springsteen for his memoir “Born to Run”; late actress Carrie Fisher for “The Princess Diarist”; Shelly Peiken for “Confessions of a Serial Songwriter”; and astrophysicist Neil DeGrasse Tyson for “Astrophysics for People in a Hurry.”
Sanders will know if he won when the Grammys are held on Jan. 28.
