Virginia Democrats subpoenaed Republican Rep. Scott Taylor to testify in a case accusing his staff of falsifying petition signatures.

Democrats have accused Taylor’s campaign of forging signatures to get a third party candidate on the ballot in the state’s 2nd District. 

Democratic attorneys subpoenaed Taylor along with independent candidate Shaun Brown, campaign workers who collected the signatures, Taylor’s former consultant Rob Catron, the chairman of the Virginia Beach GOP and two people in the petitions, according to the Virginian-Pilot.

A spokesman told the Pilot that Taylor might have a comment later. 

Democrats want to remove Brown from the ballot.

The lawsuit says Brown listed addresses where she never lived and received signatures of people who said they never signed a petition. 

The lawsuit is being conducted in the Richmond Circuit Court.

Last week, it was discovered one of the five people who is accused of collecting bunk signatures on Taylor’s campaign still worked for him.
