Democratic Sens. Robert Menendez and Kirsten Gillibrand called for Congress to act to provide further assistance to Puerto Rico, criticizing President Donald Trump’s response to Hurricanes Maria and Irma one year after the disasters. “While the storms themselves were devastating, what’s more disturbing is how incompetent the Trump administration has been over the last year,” Gillibrand said. “What Congress needs to do is pass a comprehensive approach, a Marshall Plan to rebuild Puerto Rico.”
