President Donald Trump spoke Monday about Texas Sen. Ted Cruz as he headed to Houston to campaign for the incumbent, who faces a challenge from Democratic Rep. Beto O’Rourke. The president’s characterization of his relationship with Cruz is a stark contrast from the one seen on the presidential campaign trail in 2016 when Trump nicknamed him “lyin’ Ted.” The Texas Senate race is rated as Likely Republican by Inside Elections.
