Speaker Nancy Pelosi on Thursday discussed her call to postpone President Donald Trump’s State of the Union address until after the shutdown is over. She cited the security considerations that are always in place for the annual address, which consolidates most of the government’s power into one room in the Capitol. Pelosi had invited the president to deliver the speech on Tuesday, Jan. 29 and he accepted. The shutdown has now in its 27th day.
