Mulvaney hosting Camp David meeting with Yarmuth, others

A small group of Republican and Democratic House members are headed to Camp David after votes Friday to meet with White House acting chief of staff Mick Mulvaney, to see if they can find common ground on budget and other issues.

Mulvaney extended the invitation but didn’t provide any details of the subject matter of the agenda.

House Budget Chairman John Yarmuth, D-Ky., said the meeting will be “to see if there are areas of common ground we can pursue.”

“I was told that it was going to be tilted toward bipartisan cooperation,” said Rep. Chuck Fleischmann of Tennessee, ranking Republican on the Homeland Security Appropriations Subcommittee.

No senators were invited to the meeting, which is scheduled to end at 1 p.m. on Saturday.

Sources said the other lawmakers who were invited are: Steve Womack, R-Ark., Rob Woodall, R-Ga., Roger Williams, R-Texas, Tom Graves, R-Ga., Brendan F. Boyle, D-Pa., Henry Cuellar, D-Texas, and Peter Welch, D-Vt.
