New Jersey Democrat Mikie Sherrill took to the the House floor Thursday during time reserved for general speeches to honor “legendary” rock musician Bruce Springsteen on his 70th birthday. Flanked by a poster-size photo of Springsteen performing, the freshman congresswoman vividly described his concerts as “nearly four hours of power, raw beauty and sweat that you actively participate in.” The self-proclaimed “Jersey Girl” dubbed him the “unofficial spokesperson and ambassador” of the Garden State.
