House observes moment of silence for former Rep. John Conyers

Members of the Michigan delegation and the Congressional Black Caucus joined Rep. Brenda Lawrence, D-Mich., in the well of the House on Tuesday night for a moment of silence honoring former Rep. John Conyers who died Sunday. Lawrence noted the Michigan Democrat was the longest-serving African-American lawmaker in congressional history and celebrated his work in several civil rights fights.
