<p class="p1"> <span class="s1">At least two Code Pink protesters made their way into the GOP convention and disrupted proceedings Monday night.</span> </p> <p class="p1"> <span class="s1">One young woman stood up as Sen. Jeff Sessions spoke, yelling, "Trump's Islamophobia makes us less safe." Two people in front of her attempted to rip the banner she held out of her hands. </span> </p> <p class="p1"> <span class="s1">She stood in the first tier of seats just above the floor, approximately 70 feet from the VIP box where vice presidential nominee in waiting Mike Pence and Bob Dole were together listening to the speech.</span> </p> <p class="p1"> <span class="s1">The protester continued to shout as security escorted her out. Attendees stood up to block the press on the floor below from seeing her.</span> </p> <p class="p1"> <span class="s1">Sen. Jeff Sessions, the first senator to back Trump, spent much of his speech at the Republican National Convention focused on immigration issues and criticizing trade deals made under President Barack Obama.</span> </p> <p class="p1"> <span class="s1">"This is economic disaster,” Sessions said. “We're on the wrong track and the American people know it."</span> </p> <p class="p1">Moments later a second Code Pink protester was escorted from the balcony of the convention.
