The federal corruption trial against Pennsylvania Rep. Chaka Fattah is set to begin Monday with opening statements, three weeks after he lost his re-election bid for his Philadelphia-area seat in a Democratic primary, Reuters reported . The 11-term House member was indicted on 29 corruption charges including participating in a racketeering conspiracy, bribery and wire fraud. He lost his 2nd District primary in April to state Rep. Dwight Evans . Fattah is accused of misappropriating hundreds of thousands of dollars of federal, charitable and campaign funds.
