Defeated, but Still Dedicated

Retired Army Maj. Tammy Duckworth, who fought in the Iraq War, didn’t let her loss in November stop her from completing her mission. After losing her race for the House, Duckworth accepted Gov. Rod Blagojevich’s (D) offer to head the Illinois Department of Veterans’ Affairs, and on Tuesday she visited Capitol Hill to attend a Senate Veterans Affairs Committee hearing on health care for returning service members. She is seen here making her way in to the hearing.
