See full Gallup Poll

Americans believe that the United States will move into a recession; that grocery prices, out-of-pocket healthcare costs, and gas prices will go up; that unemployment will rise; and that housing prices will go down, according to a Gallup survey conducted Nov. 26-29. Almost twice as many Democrats as Republicans say unemployment will be higher in a year than it is today, and there is a 30-point difference in the expectations that the U.S. economy will enter a recession within the coming year.
