California: Issa Endorses Hunter for Neighboring District Seat

Rep. Darrell Issa (R) has endorsed Marine reservist Duncan D. Hunter in his bid to win the 52nd district GOP primary and succeed his father, Rep. Duncan Hunter (R), who is retiring.

Issa represents the adjacent 49th district. He picked Hunter over Santee Councilman Brian Jones (R) and San Diego County Board of Education President Bob Watkins (R).

The 52nd district is solid Republican territory, and the winner of the June 3 GOP primary should be in a good position to win the November general election.
