Ohio: Ohio Delegation Hosts Fundraiser for Wulsin

Physician Victoria Wulsin, the Democratic challenger to Rep. Jean Schmidt (R), is getting some fundraising help from Buckeye Democrats in Washington, D.C., later this month. In a high-dollar fundraiser sponsored by Members of the Ohio Democratic delegation, Wulsin will hold the reception at a private home on April 29.

Ticket prices for the reception range from $250 to $5,000. Ohio Reps. Marcy Kaptur, Tim Ryan, Zack Space, Betty Sutton, Stephanie Tubbs Jones and Charlie Wilson are all listed on the invitation.

Schmidt narrowly defeated Wulsin in 2006, a year in which Democrats made huge gains across the state. Wulsin is making her third attempt at the seat since a 2005 special election in the district that traditionally votes Republican.

Wulsin outraised Schmidt in their state’s most recent reporting period, putting $225,000 in her campaign bank account between Feb. 14 and March 31. Schmidt raised $152,000 in that time period.
