Nebraska: In New Ad, Raimondo Seeks End of Iraq War

Senate candidate Tony Raimondo (D) is on the air with another television ad, this time calling for the United States to make an “honorable exit” from Iraq.

The ad went up last week, and is set to run through Sunday. It is on broadcast and cable television in the Omaha, Lincoln, Kearney and Hastings markets. Raimondo is facing 2006 3rd district nominee Scott Kleeb (D) in the May 13 primary.

“It was a mistake to go to Iraq, and it’s a mistake to continue this failed policy,” Raimondo says in the 30-second spot. “Our brave men and women have done their job. Now Iraq needs to step up and take care of their own country.”

The winner of the Democratic primary will face former governor and ex-Agriculture Secretary Mike Johanns (R) for the open Senate seat in November.
