Mixed Feelings About Clinton the VP and Clinton the Person

While a Gallup poll the other day said that Hillary Clinton had emerged from the long and bitter primary campaign with her favorability ratings mostly intact, two polls released today show some decidedly mixed feelings about her – both in terms of whether she should be Obama’s running mate, as well as whether she is more interested in her own political future or the country’s.

Fifty-one percent of Democrats polled by Rasmussen Reports on June 4 say Obama should pick Clinton as his running mate. Taking all likely voters into account, 44 percent said she shouldn’t be on the ticket compared to 34 percent in favor of her being on the ticket and 22 percent undecided.
