Podestas Hold Joint Fete

Democratic uber-lobbyists Heather and Tony Podesta kicked off the first official day of the Democratic National Convention with a brunch at Bistro Vendome.

The Podestas, each of whom has an eponymous lobby shop, held court with reporters while staffers, delegates and lawmakers, including Reps. Henry Waxman (D-Calif.), Steve Israel (D-N.Y.) and Charlie Wilson (D-Ohio) noshed on omelets and drank mimosas and Bloody Marys.

Heather joked that instead of Hester Prynne’s scarlet letter A for adultery, she was wearing the “Hester printed ‘L’ for lobbyist,” which was embroidered on her green silk dress.
