Kennedy Leaves Hospital

A day after suffering a seizure and being rushed to the hospital, Sen. Edward Kennedy (D-Mass.) has been discharged by doctors and appears to be on the mend. Kennedy “left the hospital this morning as expected, his spirits are good, and doctors want him to get some rest,” his spokesman said on Wednesday. The veteran Senator has been battling brain cancer since May. The diagnosis came after he suffered a seizure at his Massachusetts family compound. It was not immediately clear whether Kennedy would stay in Washington, D.C., or return to his home state. It was also unclear if and when Kennedy, who is leading Senate Democratic efforts to enact comprehensive health care reform, would return to work.
