Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) told reporters Tuesday that the Senate would not provide money to close the Guantánamo Bay, Cuba, detention facility without a plan for its inmates, and that displaced prisoners would not be transferred to an American prison. While Reid said the decision to close the prison is the “right one,— he said the Senate would not provide the $80 million that President Barack Obama asked for to begin the prison’s closure without a plan.
