The House Administration Committee passed a resolution Wednesday to set guidelines for reimbursement vouchers, paving the way for new standards that will be implemented in January.

[IMGCAP(1)]Officials say the current standards are sometimes vague, leaving staffers without detailed directions on what receipts and documents are needed to ensure reimbursement. The new standards will lay out the necessary paperwork for everything from airline tickets to taxi fares.

Kyle Anderson, a spokesman for Chairman Robert Brady (D-Pa.), said two provisions still need to be ironed out: the requirements for the reimbursement of printing and security costs.

After the standards are complete, the committee will “develop an outreach strategy— to inform offices of the changes, according to the resolution.
