A Republican organization that supports abortion rights donated last month to the 2010 campaigns of Rep. Michael N. Castle (Del.), a candidate for an open Senate seat, and ex-Rep. Charles Bass (N.H.), who’s seeking to reclaim an open House seat.

In a Monday filing to the Federal Election Commission, Republican Majority for Choice PAC said that it gave $5,000 to Castle and $2,500 to Bass on Nov. 13.

Castle and Bass support abortion rights. In 2006, Bass was one of just nine Republicans who voted against a bill that would have made it a federal crime to take a minor across state lines to obtain an abortion. Castle missed that vote but he would have joined Bass in voting no. Castle and Bass also have voted to expand embryonic stem cell research that anti-abortion organizations oppose.
