Fimian Preps For GOP Race With Herrity In Northern Virginia

Virginia businessman Keith Fimian (R), who is preparing for a rematch against Rep. Gerald E. Connolly (D) in the 11th district, says that he is ready to first face Pat Herrity (R), a county supervisor who is set to announce his candidacy Wednesday.

“I will fully compete with Pat Herrity,” Fimian told CQ Politics Tuesday afternoon. “I am in this race to win it.”

Fimian, who founded a home inspection business, said that he has raised $550,000 for his second campaign in Virginia’s 11th, a collection of suburbs near Washington, D.C., where Connolly defeated Fimian by 55 percent to 43 percent in the 2008 election. Fimian began his rematch campaign last summer.
