Pelosi Huddling With AFL-CIO Chief to Discuss Health Care

Speaker Nancy Pelosi (Calif.) is meeting with AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka on Tuesday afternoon to discuss a contentious tax on “Cadillac— health insurance plans, the House Democratic leader’s office has confirmed.

The meeting follows Monday’s health care sit-down at the White House between President Barack Obama, Trumka and other labor leaders, which yielded few tangible results.

Before visiting the White House on Monday, Trumka told an audience at the National Press Club that Democrats risk losing their political heads this fall, if the tax — which is supported by the White House — is included in the final bill.
