Democratic Members, hoping to save their 60th vote in the Senate, are anteing up for Massachusetts Attorney General Martha Coakley’s campaign, according to the latest fundraising reports on file.Current and former House and Senate Members chipped in more than $20,000 to Coakley on Jan. 12 and 13, according to 48-hour fundraising reports, which candidates are required to file in the final weeks before next Tuesday’s special election.Some of the contributions likely came at the Washington, D.C., fundraiser Coakley attended on the 12th.Among them: Sen. Tom Carper (Del.), who gave $5,000 through his political action committee, Sen. Kay Hagan (N.C.), who gave $2,500 via her PAC, and Sen. Maria Cantwell (Wash.), who gave $2,000 from her campaign. Massachusetts delegation members Sen. John Kerry and Reps. Niki Tsongas and Ed Markey also gave $2,000 each.Other notables giving to Coakley include singer Barbra Streisand, who gave $1,000, and Red Sox CEO Larry Lucchino, who gave the Democrat $2,000 despite her well-publicized comment balking at standing out and shaking hands at Fenway Park.State Sen. Scott Brown (R), who has unexpectedly turned the special election into a nail-biter, had fewer recognizable names on his latest report. Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) gave $5,000 via his Bluegrass PAC while Sen. Dick Lugar (R-Ind.) chipped in $2,000 from his campaign committee, both on Jan. 12.Former Red Sox pitcher Curt Schilling, who briefly flirted with his own run for the Senate seat, gave Brown $2,400.
