Obama to Campaign for Coakley

President Barack Obama is headed to Boston on Sunday in a last-ditch effort to boost state Attorney General Martha Coakley (D) before Tuesday’s Senate special election.

White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs confirmed the trip Friday, saying Obama had accepted an invitation from Coakley to appear.

Obama delayed making a decision on whether to campaign for Coakley but her dropping poll numbers seem to have convinced the White House team to send him in. He has already recorded a Web video and robo calls on the campaign’s behalf.
