HOH’s One-Minute Recess: Luck o’ the Floridians

Ever notice how everyone’s Irish on St. Patrick’s Day? Congressional candidates are no exception — Marco Rubio, the son of Cuban immigrants who is running for a Florida Senate seat, today is cleverly rearranging the spelling of his name and calling himself Marc O’Rubio.

[IMGCAP(1)]O’Rubio (we’ll humor him here) touted his endorsement by a the Irish-American Republicans, who announced on St. Patty’s that they are backing O’Rubio over his primary opponent, Gov. Charlie O’Crist. (Actually, it’s just Crist, but HOH is getting into the holiday spirit.)

“I am honored to have their support in my campaign and wish all Irish-Americans in Florida and across the country a Happy St. Patrick’s Day,” O’Rubio enthused in a press release this morning.
