Pennsylvania: Specter TV Spots Target Blue-Collar Workers

Sen. Arlen Specter (D), who has the backing of every major union in the Keystone State, highlights blue-collar workers in his first three television spots.

Specter, who’s making his first re-election bid since leaving the Republican Party, doesn’t mention his party affiliation in the ads, which according to an online report are airing on broadcast TV in Pittsburgh, Erie and Altoona, as well as on cable in Philadelphia.

Specter is fighting a primary battle with Rep. Joe Sestak.

Sestak has been trailing in the polls, but the two-term lawmaker has yet to go on television.

Specter’s longtime media consultant, Chris Mottola, produced the ads.
