Pennsylvania: Pelosi to Help Critz Raise Cash for Special

Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) is scheduled to host a fundraiser for Mark Critz, the Democratic nominee in the special election in the 12th district.

Pelosi and Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee Chairman Chris Van Hollen (Md.) will host the reception for Critz, a top aide to the late Rep. John Murtha (D) who is vying to succeed his boss in the May 18 special election.

The event is scheduled for today in Washington, D.C., with ticket prices ranging from $1,000 to $5,000 for political action committees and from $250 to $2,400 for individuals.

Critz faces businessman Tim Burns (R) in the special election, which is the same day as the state’s regularly scheduled primaries.

House Republican leaders plan to host a money-raising event for Burns the same day as Pelosi’s event.

Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio), Minority Whip Eric Cantor (R-Va.), National Republican Congressional Committee Chairman Pete Sessions (Texas) and every GOP House Member from Pennsylvania are lending their names to the reception.
