Virginia: Cantor Endorses Rigell in Crowded Primary

Rep. Eric Cantor, the No. 2 House Republican, on Monday endorsed car dealer Scott Rigell, one of several GOP candidates vying to unseat Rep. Glenn Nye (D).

Cantor, the House Minority Whip and a five-term Member from the Richmond-area 7th district, said Rigell “has the business sense and conservative leadership we need in Washington.”

Rigell is the best-known of the six Republicans in the June 8 primary.

Cantor’s endorsement can be expected to open up some political action committee money for Rigell, who has raised nearly all of his $1.1 million in receipts from individual donors or from himself.
