Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele has parted ways with his finance director and a second finance staffer, according to a memo released by the campaign committee on Friday.

The resignations of Finance Director Rob Bickhart and staffer Debbie LeHardy come weeks after it was reported that RNC staffers had spent $2,000 at a bondage themed night club during a fundraiser in California.

“While we appreciate their service to the RNC and wish them well in future endeavors, the Chairman felt it was important to restructure the department in order to continue to improve on our strong fundraising numbers,” the memo from RNC Chief of Staff Michael Leavitt states.

Mary Heitman, a former RNC finance staffer and former finance director of the Republican Governors Association, will replace Bickhart, the memo said.
