GOP Chooses Tampa for 2012 Convention

The Republican National Committee announced Wednesday that it has chosen Tampa, Fla., as the site of its next national convention.

The runner-up cities for the big event, planned for the week of Aug. 27, 2012, were Phoenix and Salt Lake City.

The choice of Tampa-St. Petersburg won’t be official until after the full RNC votes at its August meeting.
