HOH’s One-Minute Recess: Kagan Won’t Rule on Edward vs. Jacob

Elena Kagan might have done more to demonstrate her judicial restraint and even temperament Wednesday morning when she refused to touch one of the most raging, divisive cultural divides of our time: Team Edward vs. Team Jacob.

During the Senate confirmation hearing, Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.) raised the issue (for the uninitiated, Edward and Jacob are the dueling male leads of the “Twilight” series; Edward is a hunky teen vampire, and Jacob is a hunky teen werewolf) with the solicitor general, who wisely deflected the matter.
