Candidate Conversation: Carly Fiorina, Calif. Senate

Carly Fiorina, the former CEO of the computer giant Hewlett-Packard, is hoping to ‘Control-Alt-Delete’ Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.) from Congress.

Fiorina, who defeated former Rep. Tom Campbell in the Republican primary, has been relentless in her criticisms of Boxer as an ineffective legislator and a liberal ideologue.

Boxer’s campaign has responded by attacking Fiorina for opposing the stimulus law (and later calling it a failure) and other economic strategies promoted by the Obama administration and the Democratic-run Congress. Democrats also will attack Fiorina’s track record at the helm of HP, where the company laid off thousands of workers during her stint.

Roll Call sat down with Fiorina during a recent visit to our Washington, DC office.
