Senate Democrats Will Gather at White House on Tuesday

The Senate Democratic leadership team will meet with President Barack Obama and Vice President Joseph Biden at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the White House.

The meeting, which the White House announced Monday evening, was called to discuss legislative priorities before the August recess.

Democratic Senators expected to attend include Majority Leader Harry Reid (Nev.), President Pro Tem Daniel Inouye (Hawaii), Majority Whip Dick Durbin (Ill.), Conference Vice Chairman Charles Schumer (N.Y.), Conference Secretary Patty Murray (Wash.), Committee Outreach Chairman Jeff Bingaman (N.M.), Committee Outreach Vice Chairman Mark Pryor (Ark.), Chief Deputy Majority Whip Barbara Boxer (Calif.), Policy Committee Chairman Byron Dorgan (N.D.), Rural Outreach Chairman Blanche Lincoln (Ark.), Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee Chairman Bob Menendez (N.J.), Steering and Outreach Committee Chairwoman Debbie Stabenow (Mich.), and Deputy Whips Tom Carper (Del.), Russ Feingold (Wis.) and Bill Nelson (Fla).
