Rangel Denies Ethics Deal

Just before a special ethics committee convened to read the allegations against him, embattled Rep. Charlie Rangel (D-N.Y.) denied that a settlement had been reached to resolve the charges against him.

“I’m not involved in any deal,” he said.

“Even though this is not a great day for me … there is no inference of corruption,” he said. He said that there also was never a question of his honesty during the investigation.
