NRSC Releases ‘Extreme’ Web Ad

The National Republican Senatorial Committee’s new Web ad aims to throw back at Democrats claims that the GOP is running “extreme” Senate candidates.

The 80-second ad plays like a movie trailer, with dramatic music and an ending kicker that reads: “Mr. President, that’s extreme. Don’t believe us? You’ll find out on November 2nd.”

The ad features a news clip of Democratic National Committee Chairman Tim Kaine saying, “Republicans are putting up a whole series of candidates that are way outside the mainstream of what Americans want.”

It also cites recent polling in 11 states where Republicans are in contention, including four currently held by a Republican. They include Kentucky, Missouri, Ohio, New Hampshire, California, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Illinois, Nevada, Washington and Florida.

“It’s going to take a whole lot more than this Rasmussen Video to hide the national Republicans’ dissatisfaction with the crop of extremist candidates running for Senate this year,” Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee spokeswoman Deirdre Murphy said in response to the web ad. “With candidates who want to privatize Social Security, dismantle Medicare and return us to the Bush economic policies of the past, it’s no wonder they want to change the subject.”
