Capitol Police Officer Sentenced to Five Years in Child Porn Case

A former Capitol Police officer was sentenced to five years in prison Thursday after he was found guilty of possessing and distributing child pornography, according to news reports.

Former Capitol Police Sgt. Dennis Bell was trafficking in child pornography, including images and video, over the Internet on computers in his home. Manassas, Va., police and the FBI conducted a four-month investigation after arresting Bell in April. He pleaded guilty in August.

After his arrest, Bell retired from the Capitol Police after working for the force for 27 years.
