Suspicious Package Report Closes Roads Near Capitol

Several roads have been closed by the Metropolitan Police Department because of a suspicious package.

A spokesperson for MPD said officers are investigating the scene, where a pedestrian reported seeing the package at 1:30 p.m. The spokesperson refused to give any additional information.

The closed roads include Brentwood and Mount Olivet roads, T Street Northeast, the 500 block of Pennsylvania Avenue Northeast, and the 600 block of Morse and 1200 block of Sixth streets Northeast.
