Rep. John Adler honored a few favorite residents of the Jersey Shore in a one-minute floor speech on Monday.

But no, he didn’t salute Pauly D, Snooki and company.

The New Jersey Democrat praised the Girl Scouts of the Jersey Shore — of which we’re pretty sure “Jersey Shore” cast members such as JWOWW are not a member — for receiving the 2010 Women’s Advocate of the Year award from the Ocean County Advisory Commission on the Status of Women.

“At an early age, the Girl Scouts program instills in our women a sense of pride, leadership and community,” Adler said. “The Girl Scouts of the Jersey Shore prepares the young women of Ocean County to be our nation’s next business, civic and community leaders.”

Yes, but will that be enough to get them a show on MTV?

In other Jersey-Shore-related news, Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) wished Snooki a happy birthday via Twitter Tuesday morning. The reality star thanked him via the social messaging website, then later posted another tweet sticking up for those who criticized the Senator for wishing her well.

“Everyone get real with given @SenJohnMcCain bs for wishing me happy bday, fricken weirdos. #teammccain 🙂 thanks,” Snooki wrote.
